Fedora 12 constantine
Fedora 12 is a Red Hat Linux Operating system and makes use of the free open source software it is free and available to download currently Fedora 11 is available for free download or you can purchase the Live Cd .
Fedora 12 (constantine) is released this week and im looking forward to getting a copy, I havent used Fedora before but the screenshots make it look sleek and modern and nicer in apperance than Ubuntu’s coffee stain lol
Pidgin has been replaced by a new IM system with camera and audio support which you cant curently get and its called “Empathy” this will rule out the need for Msn which takes a lot of memory usuage.
I have seen Fedora 11 and it looks very nice and sleek and Fedora 12 has minor tweeks and updates you can check out the features on the Fedora Project web page . http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora
Music application that was used was Thuderbird which is awesome as it will find YouTube vidoes and lyrics because as far as im aware there is no Itunes application to use on Linux if anyone knows of one please let me know as currently i use WINAMP which i dont think is available on Linux either
( Currently a Vista User with Linux in a Virtual Machine)
I went to buy the guide for Fedora so i have a headstart and can use it to negotiate myself round the new OS and found out its only available to preorder and is not realeased untill the end of Feburary which i think is a bit daft as it contains a free live cd of Fedora 12 , i will have to browse on release an online guide untill such time as the guide is released might just be me but wouldnt it be more sence to release the book around the same time as the new OS release =\ .
Once i get my copy and have used it i shall reblog and tell you how i got on
